Rabbithole

On November 9, 2025, we held a workshop at the Gesamtschule Osnabrück-Schinkel. During the evacuation due to the bomb disposal in the Lokviertel, participants had the opportunity to learn the basics of programming with Python and get creative with "Pixelflut".

The workshop was a great success. Many of the participants had little or no prior experience with programming.

Last year we started shifting our communication fromJabber/XMPP to Matrix. For this purpose we have set up a Matrix instance and moved our rooms and activities.

Now it is time to complete the migration. Because of frequent technical problems with mirroring the messages and because we no longer want to support Telegram, we have decided to take the bridge offline.

On 1st May 2025 we will discontinue our Telegram and XMPP/Jabber channel. We ask the few that still follow the public chat on these platforms to instead join our Matrix chat room.

People who do not yet have a Matrix account can register with an instance of their choice:

• Members can use our own instance with their club email address
• Non members can use one of the countless public instances

We have a new website! The first thing you noticed is probably the new appearance. But everything under the hood is new too! Additionally, a lot of work went into new and improved content.

We now present our hackspace Rabbithole on its own page. Curious visitors can get an insight into our space with a photo. To make it easier to find the hackspace, we provide detailed illustrated directions.

To better present the work of our association, we have collected all our talks, workshops, and other events that we held in the past. The list can be found on the page About.

The events are also used to generate our new calendar. This means we only have to maintain the info in one place. If you are still subscribed to our old Nextcloud calendar, you should change it to the new iCal URL.

We built a similar integration for the news on the homepage, which is now available as an RSS feed.

The Chaostreff Osnabrück e.V. is moving to a new dedicated location! From now on all meetings will take place in the AStA of the University of Osnabrück, Alte Münze 12, 49074 Osnabrück.

We have named out new hackspace Rabbithole and we look forward to setting up our new home.
