It is almost that time of the year again that all hackerspaces will open their doors! 30th of March is the International Open Hackerspace Day and Pixelbar will be open for everyone this day!

Never been to a hackerspace yet? Curious where Pixelbar is located after the fire? Do you want to see what kind of tools we have which you can use when you visit us? Want to look what awesome projects our participants have been working on?

Participants of Pixelbar will be happy to answer your questions, show off their projects and maybe even help with a project that you bring along.

Pixelbar can be found at the Schiehaven 15c in Rotterdam. We are open from 12:00 till 17:00. After these hours some of our participants will be still in Pixelbar, to be sure if we are still open visit our website on www.pixelbar.nl and on the top you can see if we are open or not. When you can’t visit us on the 30th of March then you’re always welcome to visit us on Wednesdays or Saturdays, check on our website whether we’re open or closed.

At the 3D print & Pizza evening everyone is welcome with an interest in 3D Printing. Are you an advanced DIY-builder, owner of a print farm, or just orientating before buying your first printer? Everyone is welcome at the Print & Pizza evening hosted at Pixelbar in Rotterdam.

Take your prints or even printer with you to show it to others, to ask questions or get help with problems. Together with the whole group you get tips, maybe someone can help you solve the problem and you get to know others with the same interest.

And of course there will be pizza.

Since the last 3D Print & Pizza evening Pixelbar has had to move again. We are now at the Schiehaven in Rotterdam. The parking at this new space is unfortunately paid.

To access the space you need to go up a set stairs, we sadly don’t have an elevator.

After the devastating fire in June 2023 we were lucky enough to find a temporary space just down the road.

However at the end of November we had to leave this space. But not to worry we were quick to find a new space and are now settled into a new temporary space at the Schiehaven in Rotterdam.

Keilewerf has been around for 9 years and that is celebrated with an open day! This year is a bit special because of the big fire, but you can still visit Pixelbar at the old location. We are standing for the last time on the old fundament of Keilewerf 1 at our very own place. This day is a celebration of renewal, resilience and building an inspiring community.

After the big fire we had to cancel and never thought we could get up and running this fast. But we got offered a temporary space nearby! Thanks to Buurman Rotterdam for arranging this awesome place we can continue doing what we love!

So no cancelation of the Print & Pizza Night. Location 3D print & pizza evening is hosted at Hackerspace Pixelbar, which is located at (Keileweg 28, Rotterdam). There is (limited) parking space available. If you’re coming with public transportation: you can take the stop at Marconiplein and walk your way up towards the KFC and take a left into the Keileweg. After about 450 meters, you’ll be at our new building.

To get access ring the doorbell at the side of the building and someone will open the door.

Wednesday, June 28th, at around 8:00 AM, we received distressing messages notifying us that the building housing Pixelbar was engulfed in flames. This building was not only a home to artists, furniture makers, and other builders, but it was also the heart of our community. The fire has had a devastating impact, reducing the entire structure to ashes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The incident has left our community in a state of shock, as we have suffered the irreplaceable loss of not just our physical space, but also all the equipment, tools, and projects we had gathered over the course of 8 years.

All the support has been heartwarming, but we still have a long way to go. We are determined to rebuild our hackerspace, keeping our mission alive. We are looking for equipment (supplies, tools, etc) and donations to rebuild our hackerspace to its former glory. Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a tremendous difference in our ability to rebuild.
